Heard this song Saturday morning on a Top 20 countdown while on the recumbent bike and it stuck in my head. This isn’t the official video, but I like how they integrated the lyrics in this version - really well done. Jason Mraz - I Won’t Give Up.
Music Wednesday: Muse - Resistance. A great song by a great band. Really love the chorus and key changes in this song, very well done!
Yeah, I’m late to the Andy Grammer party, (and late posting this) but I don’t typically listen to Andy Grammer-type of music. On the other hand, I like positive lyrics and these are pretty good. Enjoy!
Alexi Murdoch - All My Days. Had never run across him before but caught the first bit of this song in the movie Real Steel and it stuck in my head. Really good / mellow.
An oldie but a goodie from Nick Drake. I caught this song in the movie ‘The Way’ (pretty good) last weekend and like the mellowness. Nick Drake died in 1974.
Normally I post some sort of Music on Wednesday but I’ve been off a day due to all the funnies getting posted on Sunday for April Fools Day. Plus I’ve been listening to a bunch of Rage Against the Machine. I can’t believe some of these tunes are almost 20 years old now (including the one below called “Killing In The Name” - not a video in this case, just the song & album cover graphic). Also, I’m posting this from the plane as they finally got WiFi on the DFW -> SFO flight!
WARNING: Don’t listen to this if you want to be in a serene mood or get relaxed with a glass of wine because it won’t work! Also, it has the F word in it profusely towards the end so it’s very much PG-13+ (e.g. I wouldn’t crank this up in the office). These guys are good for getting angry, taking out your frustrations on the punching bag, pushing yourself at the gym, etc. The lyrics are meaningless so don’t get all fired up about the crazy stuff they’re saying, but nothing is better for lifting weights IMHO.

Ran across Carolina Liar (@carolinaliar) a couple weeks ago (yes, I live under a rock). You’ve probably heard the first song below, but maybe not. The second song is also great but there’s no official music video for it. I included a third embedded video below just because I like these guys so much.
Go checkout some of their MP3s on your favorite music service, I ended up buying quite a few of their tunes - really good band!
Music Wednesday’s continue with The Shins - Simple Song. This is a great tune and they have a bunch more good stuff. If you like Simple Song try listening to a few more: Phantom Limb, Caring is Creepy and New Slang. Honestly, I don’t know how I missed these guys as they were coming up…
Almost missed it today, but think this one is worth sharing.
Eddie Vedder, who will always equal Pearl Jam for me, has just kept making music all these years and his latest album is full of him playing the Ukulele (yes, I said Ukulele). Anyway, worth a listen even if you’re not a fan of the instrument as he still writes great music and can sing with the best of them.
It’s Wednesday so time for some music. I thought I had heard every Creed tune but apparently I was wrong. Caught this one yesterday - a couple years old but its worth listening to a few times. I liked it after the first time I heard it…after about the third time I bought the MP3 to add to the collection. :)
